IToddy contractors are a rare bunch these days, no thanks to the emergence of cheap liquor and the dearth of toddy tappers.The sky is still dark and the sun is gently peeking out. The dogs are barking incessantly at photographer Art Chen and mosquitoes are swarming around us in the coconut plantation. It doesn’t help that K. Raja is wearing a black T-shirt. The pesky insects mercilessly attack us but Raja is immune to their bites. Armed with pots and various knives, he is ready to begin work as a toddy tapper.
