Kampung Panglima Seman Lama is the only traditional Malay homestay in the heart of Kuching city.
This Malay village sits across the Sarawak River and is opposite the Grand Margherita Hotel. Formally known as Kampung Buah, this village has been around for more than a 100 years. According to a folk story, the present name came from a panglima or commander named Seman who protected the area from evil people. Some folks still believe in his presence at the village.
