Brunei To Extend Forest Conservation Areas

One of it is to consider and explore the possibilities of increasing the conservation areas of the reserved forests by converting the production forest areas in the reserved forests to conservation forest areas. "We will intensify the development of 30,000-hectare forest plantation at the Inter-Riverine zone area to support the domestic wood requirement of the country," said Minister of Industry & Primary Resources, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar during his keynote address at the opening ceremony of the 2nd Asean Social Forestry Network (ASFN) Conference 2011 yesterday.
