Blessed Malaysia-Vatican Ties

Christians, particularly Roman Catholics, have warmed up to prime minister Najib Razak after he met pope Benedict XVI in Rome to establish diplomatic ties between his 13-state federation and the Vatican on July 18. Andrew Lawrence, editor of The Herald, a Catholic weekly newspaper, says the move marks 500 years of cultural and educational ties between Malaysia and the Holy See.
